a mashup of Comic Obscurities

Although I am breaking my own rule from yesterday, i do have the dates for this mashup.  These originally appeared on the blog between 7-12/9/2015.

Here is a look at some of the more obscure strips from the past. There will be three from D. C. Thomson, and three from IPC. We start our look with the Beezer's super patriot, True Brit.

Meet Tommy Britain, a likeable young lad just like any other, but anyone who tries to make a mockery of the British way of life, he is angered and becomes a Super Brit, putting any loonies (that is, Silly Billy and Silly Willy of the Silly Party, which is in itself a reference to the Election Night special sketch from the Monty Python series) well and truly in their place..

Today's strip comes from his second appearance in the Beezer, No. 1652, dated 12/9/1987. We find our hero in the Scottish Highlands.


Our next obscurity comes from the pages of Whoopee!, meet Ernie Learner.
