There is a considerable amount of work by Dutch artists in the world collection at the National Gallery. Caesar Boetius van Everdingen painted The Abduction of Europa circa 1650. Did it ever occur to Hera that instead of punishing the women her husband was lusting after, she should have just castrated Zeus?
Paulus Bor painted The Annunciation of the Virgin's Death circa 1635-40.
The Tribute Money is by Rembrandt, dating to 1629. An exhibit scheduled for the summer here at the Gallery will focus on him.
Meindert Hobbema painted Landscape With Two Watermills circa 1670. It looks quiet, but when you really look, there are people everywhere. I remember a chat with a docent about this painting some years ago.
