Knockout Nails System -- pics, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I have the hardest time keeping my nails at one length; they're always breaking. I'm not gentle with my nails, so I know it's my own fault that they break so much, but I'm not going to adjust my lifestyle just to have nice nails. My nails often break whenever I'm cleaning up my son's toys, playing with my dogs, or moving the house around. They also seem to break for no reason at all -- especially in the winter when they become very brittle. I've been on the search for a good way to get the nail length I prefer (which is short, but not nubs) and still be able to do what I normally do without my nails breaking. I found a way: using the Knockout Nails System! I am so in love with this system; it's just what my nails needed and what your nails may benefit from too. My nails have never grown so quickly and stayed so strong. I'm really happy with this and I'm excited to share with you my experience using this system.

Knockout Nails System Review:
This product was sent down from the nail heaven to answer my prayers, lol! I've been on the search for something, anything, to help my nails. Year round I have issues with breakage, but in the winter they get especially weak and brittle.

I even went as far as investing $30 into a bottle of Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat in hopes it would solve my problems. It worked great, but only the first day or two that it was applied. Having to apply it every 2 days to get the most benefits was using up a lot of product, meaning I would likely have to replace that bottle every month or two. Not to mention that it wasn't an ideal solution because I would often forget to re-apply it and my nails would break. What I should have done is taken that $30 and invested in the Knockout Nails System!

The Knockout Nails System is so easy to use. I was worried I would do it wrong and the results would be less than favorable, but the first time I used it I had great results and my nails felt instantly strong. It's been a breeze to use ever since. My nails are actually growing and I've barely have any breaks! I've actually had to file my nails down because they were getting too long, and it happened in just over two weeks! I'm really happy with my naked nails, I've even gone a day or two without polish.

This system doesn't smell awful either; sometimes gel systems can have a really harsh, eye-stinging, smell (like that horrible Nutra Nail Gel Perfect). This wasn't irritating at all. Don't get me wrong, it's not beautifully scented or anything but it won't irritate your eyes or require you to wear a mask, lol.

Another thing I want to point out, because I was a little skeptical, is that you really can change your polish without disturbing the Knockout Nails base! I thought for sure the minute I removed my polish the Knockout Nails gel base would dissolve, but guess what? It didn't! I even used 100% pure acetone and soaked my nails to get glitter off and after the polish came off my nails were still super shiny just as they were after I first applied the Knockout Nails system! It seemed completely untouched! After that test I confidentially changed my polish as much as I normally do. Now I will say that the more you soak your nails to remove polish the more it will wear down the Knockout Nails base. For polish-aholics like myself, you may find you need to re-do your Knockout Nails every 2 weeks but for others you may only need to re-do your Knockout Nails every 3 or 4 weeks!

You don't need to completely remove the Knockout Nails base, you can just slightly file it down and re-do them like that. Or you can completely remove them and start over. I like to completely remove them and start over. In the Knockout Nails kit you will get a 'Remove' file, which you'll use to file away the gel coating. If you're inpatient like me, I use an electric nail file (which I've had for over 12 years and it works great still). I never ruin my real nail, and when I'm almost down to my nail bed I will use the Knockout Nails Remove file to finish it off, then smooth them over, file the tips, and start the quick & easy process all over again.

And yes, it really is fast. After your nails are filed and smoothed, here's what you do (complete instructions are included in the Knockout Nails kit and also available on their website)
  • Work one hand at a time (there really is no benefit to doing both hands at once)
  • Use the Cleaner to clean each nail thoroughly.
  • Apply the Bonder to the entire nail surface, including the tip edge.
  • Apply the Hardener. You'll want to apply it slightly away from the cuticle and don't forget to wrap your tips! The Hardener won't dry until it cures in the UV lamp, so take your time applying this and make sure there are no air bubbles. Oh, and make sure it's a thin layer. You don't need to lay it on thick (it will waste product and may cause a flash of heat to the nail when under the UV lamp).
  • Once you've double check your nails to make sure they are good to go (no air bubbles, etc.), place your hand in the UV lamp. The lamp is set to turn off on its own after 2 minutes.
  • When the 2 minutes are over you'll remove your hand, and without touching your nails, apply another thin coat of Hardener.
  • Again, make sure there are no air bubbles, then put your hand back in the UV lamp for another 2 minutes.
  • This time, when your hand comes out of the lamp you'll use the Cleaner. Your nails will feel sticky/tacky to the touch. That's just left over residue and the Cleaner will easily and quickly clean that off.
  • NOTE: If your nails are really thin, or if you just want an extra layer of protection, after the second go in the UV lamp remove your hand and again, don't touch your nails, and apply a third coat of Hardener. Make sure there are no air bubbles, put back in lamp for 2 minutes, and then use the Cleaner.
  • Then guess what? Your nails are DONE! They'll be rock hard and super shiny.
  • Repeat the same steps on your other hand.
See how easy that is? It may seem like a lot, but trust me, it's super easy.

From there you can leave your nails as they are (they'll look fantastic on their own), or you can apply polish. You can use one of the included Knockout Nails 2-Minute Drying Polish, which require 2 minutes under the UV lamp, or you can use any regular polish you have. You can even use other UV Gel Polishes.

You can also use any base coat you normally would over top the Knockout Nails base, and apply your polishes like normal. Just pretend your don't have the Knockout Nails base and polish as normal. The Knockout Nails base looks very natural, isn't thick yet still makes your nails feel incredibly strong.

Overall, if you couldn't already tell, I highly recommend this! It's been a savior for my nails.
